Palm Desert Branch Opens

PLCU opened its 15th branch with the traditional ribbon-cutting ceremony. The full-service branch with a 24-hour ATM is located at 34460 Monterey Avenue, Suite 105 in the Desert Gateway Shopping Center in Palm Desert.

The new Branch hours of business are Monday - Thursday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Click here for directions to the branch.

Point Loma Credit Union was founded on a "People Helping People" philosophy. At PLCU, we believe that "People Helping People" goes beyond just helping our members achieve their financial goals. We believe that it also means helping the community as a whole. To do that, we sponsor or participate in the following community service programs:

PLCU College Scholarship Competition
Each year, we help deserving students defray the costs of a college education by awarding three $2,500 college scholarships to outstanding high school seniors. The 2008 scholarship recipients are Breanna Berry, Shannon McClintock, and Nailah Spruill.

Children's Hospital Miracle Month of May
This is an annual balloon sale in which all proceeds go to fund research and treatment programs at our local Children's Hospital. In 2008, PLCU raised $3,666.97.

Walk With a Purpose

We’re putting on our walking shoes to support two important causes, and we welcome your participation.

Walk to Cure Diabetes — San Diego County

Help us support the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation by joining us in this fund-raising walk Sunday, October 26, 2008, at UC San Diego. Call for information. You can also support the JDRF by purchasing paper cutout sneakers for $1 at all San Diego County branches during the month of October.

Inland Empire HeartWalk — Riverside County

We’re also walking to help the American Heart Association in its battle against strokes and heart disease. Join us at Fairmont Park, Riverside, on Saturday, September 20. Registration begins at 7 am. And stop by any Riverside County branch to buy a paper cutout heart for $1.
