Brothers count on PLCU business services
Guillermo and Bernardo Cortes opened their first Mr. Taco restaurant in 1985 in San Marcos. They’ve made the family business a success with help from PLCU Business Solutions.
Q. Why did you choose PLCU rather than a bank?
A. PLCU has lower fees, greater benefits, and excellent service. As a family business, we appreciate the personal touch PLCU provides.
Q. Your second location is near Cal State San Marcos, so you must serve a lot of students.
A. We sure do. They enjoy our California burritos and asada fries, and we expect our new Low-Carb burritos to be popular too.
Q. The community has supported you, and you give back as well.
A. That’s important to us. We support Cal State San Marcos athletics, Palomar College, as well as local elementary and high schools.
Q. What is in store for the future?
A. We’ve been in business more than 25 years, and many people who first came here as kids are bringing their kids in now. We want to keep that feeling of tradition going, so we plan to keep expanding, with help from PLCU.
